WENDY JAMES 

As resident artist and designer at Shmilar Kwong, Wendy’s contribution to our success is invaluable. Her creativity and vision is evident in our displays and in the works that she creates and sells exclusively in our shop.

In her own words, Wendy tells us a little about herself:

“Soft powdery hues of a skyline, the warm amber of a wheat field, the fluffy feathers of a downy woodpecker – as with many others, my work is inspired by the colours and textures of nature. It is rich and generous. A wonderful teacher. I have only to look and interpret what I see. Over the years my creativity has ventured from floral design to textiles, to painting, to jewelry design. Each year, to rejuvenate my mind, I take a new course to keep my ideas fresh and evolving. I am always flattered when people purchase my products at Shmilar Kwong and I take pride in pleasing the customers.”

One of Wendy’s most recent passions is beading. Her exquisite bracelets and earrings and her whimsical beaded bookmarks keep our customers coming back time and time again to see what’s new.
